Spirit of the Game should be completed after each junior football match by the clubs and umpires involved in that match.
For clubs
Log in using your club or team account.
Select the match or opposition team for the round.
Rate your own team’s behaviour honestly.
Rate the opposition team’s behaviour fairly.
Answer the behaviour questions about players, officials, spectators and the match environment.
Use the comments section only when something important needs to be recorded.
Submit the rating before 9pm on the day after the match, unless the league has set a different deadline.
For umpires
Log in using your umpire account.
Select the competition and both teams involved in the match.
Rate the behaviour of each team independently.
Consider player behaviour, officials, spectators, respect toward umpires and the overall match environment.
Add comments where a serious concern, excellent conduct or useful context should be recorded.
Rating guidance
5 stars — excellent behaviour and sportsmanship.
4 stars — good behaviour with only minor issues.
3 stars — satisfactory behaviour, but some improvement needed.
2 stars — poor behaviour or repeated issues.
1 star — unacceptable behaviour requiring attention.
Be honest and consistent. The system compares club ratings with umpire ratings to discourage teams from overrating themselves or unfairly underrating opponents.
